4. How to Prepare: A Subject-Wise Strategy

With 150 (Grade 3) or 135 (Grade 4) questions to attempt in a fixed window, accuracy and speed matter equally. Here's how to approach each section:

  • Mathematics: Since the level is capped at Class 10 standard, focus on speed-building for arithmetic topics (percentage, profit & loss, simple/compound interest) rather than advanced formulas — these are the most frequently tested areas.
  • Reasoning: Practice a mix of verbal (coding-decoding, blood relations) and non-verbal (mirror/water image) questions daily, since both types appear regularly in ADRE papers.
  • General English: Build vocabulary through daily reading and revise grammar rules (tense, voice, speech) systematically — these carry consistent weightage every year.
  • General Knowledge & Social Studies: Prioritize Assam-specific topics (history, culture, geography, current affairs) since regional questions are weighted heavily compared to generic GK.
  • Time management: With negative marking of 0.25 per wrong answer, attempt questions you're confident about first, then return to uncertain ones only if time permits.

5. Recommended Study Resources

Along with this syllabus, practicing previous year question papers is one of the most effective ways to understand the real difficulty level and question pattern. Check our ADRE Previous Year Question Papers for year-wise downloadable PDFs with answer keys.

Frequently Asked Questions
