Eligibility criteria
- Educational qualification: A BE/B.Tech or equivalent degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science Engineering (as applicable to the post applied for), with a minimum of 65% marks or CGPA 6.84 out of 10, from a recognized university. Graduation must be completed within the stipulated duration of the course as prescribed by the university.
- Age limit: 18 to 28 years as on 16 September 2026 (candidates must be born on or after 17 September 1998)
- Age relaxation: Notably, no age relaxation is extended to SC/ST/OBC categories for this specific recruitment. Relaxation applies only to serving Central Government civilian employees, Ex-servicemen, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), as per Government of India orders.

Selection process
- Written Test / Computer Based Test (CBT) — Part A tests core technical/engineering knowledge with negative marking of 1/3rd mark for each wrong answer; Part B has no negative marking
- Interview — shortlisted candidates from the Written Test are called for a personal interview
The final selection panel gives equal 50% weightage to the Written Test and Interview. Unreserved candidates need a minimum 60% aggregate (50% Written + 50% Interview); PwBD candidates need a minimum 50% aggregate (40% Written + 40% Interview, wherever posts are reserved). There is no relaxation in qualifying marks for SC/ST/OBC categories in this recruitment.
Salary & benefits
Selected candidates will be appointed as Scientist/Engineer 'SC' in Level 10 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, with a minimum basic pay of ₹56,100 per month. In addition to basic pay, employees receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance as applicable, along with other benefits associated with a Central Government Group 'A' Gazetted post at a premier scientific organization.
