Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Union Bank of India Apprentice engagement, candidates must satisfy the following detailed conditions as of the crucial date defined in the notification (01-01-2026):
Nationality & State-Specific Proficiency: Candidate must be an Indian citizen. Candidates must apply for a vacancy within a single state where they are proficient (read, write, speak, and understand) in the local language. For Assam, the specified local languages are Assamese, Bengali, or Bodo. Candidates must produce proof of proficiency if required.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a Graduation Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institute established by government authority. Candidates must have passed their degree examination and obtained the final result on or before the specified date in the official notification.
Age Limit:
Minimum Age: 20 years
Maximum Age: 28 years
Upper age relaxation is applicable as per government norms: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and 10 years for PwBD candidates.
Assam Vacancy Details
Out of the total 1865 posts, 29 vacancies are specifically dedicated to candidates who are residents of Assam and proficient in the required local languages (Assamese, Bengali, or Bodo). Deployment of selected apprentices within Assam will be determined based on the administrative convenience and operational requirements of Union Bank of India across various districts.
Selection Process & Training
The selection process for Union Bank Apprentices consists of three main stages:
Stage I: Online Written Test (Objective Type): This test will evaluate candidates on specific areas: General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, and English Language. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.
Stage II: Local Language Test: Candidates who are shortlisted based on the online test must demonstrate proficiency in the local language of the state they applied for (e.g., Assamese/Bengali/Bodo for Assam). Candidates who can produce a 10th or 12th standard marksheet proving they studied the local language are exempted from this test.
Stage III: Medical Examination & Document Verification (DV): Final selection is subject to document verification and being found medically fit as per bank criteria.
Stipend & Duration
The apprenticeship training duration is strictly one year. During this period, selected apprentices will receive a fixed consolidated monthly stipend based on their place of deployment (Rural/Semi-Urban/Urban/Metro branches). No other allowances (HRA, DA, etc.) will be provided.
