Are you eligible? Quick self-check (Our analysis)

Many applications get rejected for small eligibility gaps. Check these four points before you apply:

CheckWhat you need
1. Degree subjectAny degree, but you need one graduate-level paper in Statistics, Economics, Maths, Social Science, Sociology or Psychology. Check your marksheets. BA students with an Economics, Sociology or Social Science paper usually qualify here.
2. If your degree has no such paperYou can still apply if you scored 50% in Mathematics in Class 12. Check your 12th marksheet.
3. HSLC languagesEnglish plus Assamese, Bengali or Bodo must appear as subjects in your HSLC certificate.
4. Computer certificateThe course must be at least 6 months and from a Government recognised institute. A short course or an unrecognised certificate may not be accepted.
Biggest risk: the computer certificate. If you do not have a 6-month certificate yet, a course started now may not finish before 14 November. Check the official advertisement for exactly what is accepted before you spend money on a course.

Check your date of birth (General and reserved)

The age is counted as on 1 January 2026. Based on the age limits above, the approximate birth-date ranges are:

CategoryMaximum ageBorn on or after
General (UR)40 years2 January 1985
OBC / MOBC43 years2 January 1982
Ex-Servicemen42 years2 January 1983
SC / ST45 years2 January 1980
PwBD50 years2 January 1975

For all categories, the candidate must be born on or before 1 January 2005 to meet the minimum age of 21. These dates are our own calculation from the notified limits, so confirm them in the advertisement.

Tips before you apply
