Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification:
Candidates must be a Graduate, Post Graduate, or Doctorate in Law from a recognized University in India
. Preference will be given to candidates who are practicing at the Bar, have professional legal experience, or have published literary works in Law
. Qualifications must be possessed as of the last date of application submission
.
2. Age Limit (As of 20-05-2026):
Unreserved (UR): Maximum 40 years
. OBC/MOBC: Maximum 43 years
. SC/ST(P)/ST(H): Maximum 45 years
. PwBD: Age relaxation will be provided as per existing rules
.
Selection Process
The selection methodology consists of two main stages:
Stage I: Written Examination (120 Marks): An objective-type test (2-hour duration) covering English (30 marks), General Knowledge (10 marks), General Aptitude (10 marks), Law (50 marks), and Assamese language proficiency (20 marks)
. Note: Candidates must secure at least 40% marks (8 out of 20) in the Assamese segment to qualify, though these marks are not added to the final merit list
.
Stage II: Interview/Viva-Voce (30 Marks): Candidates will be called in a 1:3 ratio based on written exam merit
. A minimum of 60% marks (18 out of 30) is required in the interview to qualify .
